Number of construction permits for new housing in Spain 2022, by type
Most of the building permits for residential buildings in Spain in 2022 were for the construction of detached family houses. The number of certifications, or visados de dirección de obra in Spanish, for that type of building amounted to over 19,000. This does not refer to the absolute number of buildings constructed during that period, instead it reflects the number of constructions approved that required a certificate from a professional board. The number of permits for residential buildings was higher than that of those for non-residential use.
