In 2021, approximately 6.8 thousand people died from pneumonia in Spain, a decrease compared to the figures reported in previous years. This infectious disease affecting the lungs was more prevalent among men than women throughout the analyzed period. In the last year featured, the number of deaths from pneumonia reached around 3.8 thousand men and 2.9 thousand women in the European country.
