From 2014 to 2018, most of the expenditure of inbound tourists in Italy came from cultural holidays. According to the data, tourists' expenditure during cultural holidays in art cities made up about 57 percent of international visitors' total holiday spending in 2018. Moreover, beach holiday expenditure represented roughly a fifth of the total holiday expenditure in 2018.
