Employment in special education in the Netherlands 2008-2016, by age This statistic shows the distribution of the total number of employees in special education in the Netherlands from 2008 to 2016, by age group. As of 2008, roughly 25 percent of the people employed in special education were between 25 and 34 years old whilst roughly five percent was younger than 25. As of 2016, the share of employees in special education that were between 25 and 34 years old has decreased to roughly 22 percent whilst the share of employees younger than 25 has decreased to roughly three percent.
