This statistic shows the results of a 2016 survey in which male respondents in the United Kingdom (UK) were asked for their opinions on personal care. Approximately a third of the males surveyed consider it just as important for men to take good care of themselves as women, and 59 percent think that men are now paying more attention to their hair and skincare. When asked about their opinions on facial hair, 44 percent admitted that they prefer the clean shaven look, while 15 percent think that 'real men have beards/facial hair'.
