Italy: distribution of book readers 2010-2016, by age group

This statistic illustrates the age distribution of individuals who read at least one non-school book a year in Italy in 2010 and 2016. The study suggests that the share of book readers aged between 25 and 44 declined by over five percentage points over the selected period, from 33.4 percent to 28.3 percent of the total number of readers. By contrast, the share of readers over 60 increased from 19.8 percent in 2010 to 24.7 percent in 2016.
