In 2018, the largest share of inbound tourism expenditure was on country-specific tourism characteristic goods, at about 29 billion Malaysian ringgit, followed by accommodation services at just under 22 billion Malaysian ringgit. In that year, total inbound tourism expenditure amounted to approximately 87.7 billion Malaysian ringgit.
