Imported food safety standard violations share Japan FY 2016, by type
The statistic presents the breakdown of cases of safety violations in imported food to Japan in fiscal year 2016, broken down by inspection type. That year, about 24.6 percent of all cases were violations of standards on microbes in frozen foods etc., the second most common violations were related to the existence of hazardous or toxic substances and contamination with pathogenic microbes.
