Italy: main reasons in choosing food and beverage in 2017, by percentage This statistic displays the main reasons in choosing food and drinks in Italy in 2017. As of the survey period, almost half of respondents stated that they choose food and beverage that contained low sugar or were sugar free, as well as products that were GMO free or products that contained zero kilometer ingredients or were zero kilometer. Lastly, not containing gluten was a reason to buy a product for 19 percent of asked respondents.
