Italy: number of venture capital deals 2016, by type of investor

Number of venture capital deals in Italy in 2016, by type of investor (in units)

Italy: number of venture capital deals 2016, by type of investor This statistic shows the number of venture capital deals stipulated in Italy in 2016, broken down by type of investor. Venture capital investment is defined as a temporary equity investment, usually in higher risk and start-up companies with a long-term growth potential. Because of the high failure rate, venture capitalists expect high return rates on their investments. Business angels invest in small startups or entrepreneurs. In addition, angel investors are focused more on helping startups take their first steps, rather than the profit that may result from the project itself. In 2016, from a total number of 287 venture capital deals carried out in Italy, 129 of them were made by venture capitalists and 82 of them by angel investors.
