This statistic shows the number of electric cars sold in Italy from 2012 to 2016, by type. According to the source, the sales’ volume of both battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles has increased constantly up to 2015. However, as of 2016 the number of PHEV sold peaked (1,160), while the value referred to BEV slightly decreased with respect to previous years.
