Italy: share of individuals sorting waste 2017, by geographical area This statistic depicts the result of a survey on the share of individuals limiting their rubbish production and sorting waste in Italy as of March 2017, by geographical area. Overall, there was a higher prevalence of individuals adopting this virtuous behavior in the North, than in the Centre-South and in the Islands. More specifically, 86 percent of respondents living in the North-West of Italy stated they sorted their rubbish and that they tried to reduce its amount. On the other side, only 69 percent of citizens of the South declared so.
