Italy: crude oil imports from Africa 1990-2018

This statistic shows the volume of crude oil imports to Italy from Africa in selected years from 1990 to 2018. The three main countries in the region from which Italy has imported crude oil were Libya, Algeria and Egypt. A glance at the graph reveals a significant decrease in the import volume during the period under observation. In 1990, Italy imported over 40 million tons of crude oil from African suppliers, whereas the imports fell dramatically in the following years, reaching roughly 14 million tons by the end of 2018.
