As of 2016, approximately 50 percent of the cycled kilometers with an e-bike had a leisure motive, whereas work had roughly 25 percent. Looking at the sales volume of new e-bikes in the Netherlands, roughly 295,000 e-bikes were sold, slightly more than in 2016.
