In Italy, financial compensations for at-fault car accident claims added up to approximately 1.4 billion euros as of 2017. The compensation value paid by motor insurance companies due to accident claims involving trucks with DCPD coverage amounted to around 275 million euros.

In Italy it is known under the label CARD- Convenzione tra Assicuratori per il Risarcimento Diretto.
