Changing opinions about major online companies in Canada 2018

Change of opinion on Apple, Google/Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon and Facebook among Canadian adults as of March 2018

by A. Guttmann, last edited May 25, 2018
Changing opinions about major online companies in Canada 2018 This statistic shows the change of opinion of Apple, Google/Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon and Facebook among Canadian adults in the last month as of March 2018. The findings show that opinion of Facebook changed considerably more than attitudes towards other major online companies, with less than 10 percent of respondents saying that their opinions of Apple, Google/Alphabet, Microsoft and Amazon had worsened in the last month. Conversely, 38 percent of responding Canadian adults said that their opinion of Facebook had worsened. This could be due to the Cambridge Analytica story, which has prompted 11 percent of Facebook users in Manitoba and Saskatchewan to suspend their accounts or take a break from the platform, and five percent of Canadians living in British Columbia to delete their account completely.
