This statistic illustrates the share of journeys made by car outside of urban areas in the South and Islands of Italy in 2008 and 2016. According to the data, over the eight-year period the share of journeys made by car increased slightly, passing from 83.6 percent to 85.6 percent of all long-distance journeys made by motorized transport in the South and Islands.
