In 2014, the oil and gas industry in Norway had the most employees. That year, 38.4 thousand people were working in oil and gas extraction, while 28.4 thousand people were performing in related services. Furthermore, 300 people were running the pipeline transport. In the following years, the number of employees decreased in all sectors. As of 2018, there were 28 thousand employees in the oil and gas extraction sector.
