This statistic depicts the distribution of olive oil purchase channels in Italy in 2017, by consumption range. Overall, 40.8 percent of the asked respondents bought most of the consumed olive oil directly to the producer, while 23.3 percent of them bought the same quantity in the large-scale retail. Lastly, 4.9 percent of respondents consumed mostly their own produced olive oil, while 7.1 percent of consumers purchased in traditional grocery store an estimated 10-20 percent of the whole consumed olive oil amount.
