This statistic displays the result of a survey on the type of leisure holiday taken in Norway in 2016, by nationality. That year, making a round trip though Norway was most among German and Dutch leisure tourists, with a share of 62 percent each. With 26 percent, the largest share of domestic travelers stated to make an active holiday in their own country. Also their neighbors in Sweden visited Norway for mainly active holidays (35 percent). Danes were even more interested in adventurous travels, with a share of 55 percent stating to do so in Norway. City trips were the favorite type of holiday by tourists from Spain and China, while U.S. Americans were rather interested in the countryside (16 percent).
