Number of hydrogen fuel stations in the EU 2015-2021

There are some 136 hydrogen fuel stations in the European Union. The first rollout of hydrogen fuel stations began in 2016, however their spread languished until 2019, when figures nearly tripled in a single year. Hydrogen is deemed a critical source for reaching emission reductions and its use in the transportation industry has been supported by many governments. The reduction in 2020 is due to the exit of the United Kingdom from the EU.
