Rent vs. sales: property in leading UK cities Q2 2019 This statistic displays the share of properties in the United Kingdom's (UK) largest cities (excluding London) that are rented versus owned by the dweller as of the second quarter of 2019. Of the UK's largest cities, Manchester had the highest percentage of renters with 47 percent, whereas Glasgow had a share of 77 percent of properties that were owned and only 23 percent that were rented.
