Between 2020 and 2021, about 77.5 percent of women aged 25 to 64 years in Italy underwent a cervical cancer screening in the previous three years. This statistic shows regional variations in this figure. It is possible to note a considerable geographical difference in this rate: the average among Northern regions was 87 percent, while in Southern regions, around 70.5 percent of women underwent such tests. The age group 25 to 64 is the one for which it is recommended for women to do a cervical cancer screening every three years.
