Share of generics on public pharmaceutical expenditure in Italy 2022, by region
In 2022, the average share of prescribed generics on public pharmaceutical expenditure in Italy was equal to 24.4 percent. This statistic records regional differences in this figure. According to the data, the highest share of generics on the public pharmaceutical expenditure was registered in the Autonomous Province of Trento (33.83 percent). Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Tuscany followed, with 30.67 percent and 30.19 percent, respectively. Conversely, in Campania, generics accounted for just 17.33 percent of the public pharmaceutical expenditure in the region.
