Mexico: population-weighted ozone pollution 2000-2019
Ambient ozone pollution in Mexico has improved since the turn of the century. From 2015 to 2019, the population-weighted concentration of ozone pollution in Mexico remained stable between 43 and 44 parts per billion. Still, this is one of the highest levels registered in Latin America. The World Health Organization standard recommends not exceeding 100 micrograms per cubic meter over 8 hours, which converts to approximately 50 parts per billion.
