Share of individuals purchasing health services in Italy 2018, by area
In Italy, around 86 percent of the population purchased private health services in the 12 months prior to May 2018. This statistic breaks down this figure by geographic area of residence of the respondents. According to data, there was a quite significant difference between the North-West and the rest of Italy. The share of people living in the North-West and declaring to pay for health treatments was 80 percent. On the other hand, 89 percent of people living in both the South and the Center, stated they purchased health services, during the last year preceding the interview.
