Required capital for limited liability companies in the EU 2018 This statistic illustrates the required share capital for establishing companies in the European Union and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) as of 2018. According to a study conducted by Penta FinTech ltd, Germany requires the highest amount in share capital for companies wishing to become a limited liability enterprise with a requirement of 25 thousand euros. Switzerland, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein are the only other countries within the European Union that require a donation of ten thousand euros or above as capital shares to become a limited liability company. There are several countries including the United Kingdom (UK) and the Netherlands that require no initial capital.
