The statistic presents the number of households in Brazil from 2012 to 2017, sorted by gender of the household head. The number of homes led by women in the South American country increased from around 23.3 million in 2012 to 30.5 million in 2017. The number of households led by men decreased for the first time in 2017, from 40.5 million in 2016 to 39.3 million the following year.
