Wheat export value from Ukraine 2022, by country

In 2022, Ukraine exported wheat worth over 475 million U.S. dollars to Turkey, which was the leading export destination of that commodity. Romania, to which Ukraine's wheat export value reached over 332 million U.S. dollars, ranked second. In total, Ukraine's wheat exports exceeded 2.6 billion U.S. dollars in that year.

Ukrainian wheat exports

As of 2022/2023 marketing year, Ukraine ranked fifth among the largest exporters of wheat worldwide with the total exports volume reaching over 13.5 million metric tons. Moreover, the country accounted for about nine percent of the global wheat trade share. As of 2020/2021 marketing year, the export volume of cereal grain and grain legumes from Ukraine amounted to nearly 45 million metric tons, of which wheat, flour, and wheat products constituted over 16 million metric tons.

Main importers of wheat from Ukraine

As of June 2022, Benin and Mongolia fully relied on durum wheat imported from Ukraine . The most significant dependence on meslin supplies from Ukraine was reported by Mongolia and Armenia. In 2020, Ukraine was also Tunisia’s leading wheat supplier, as per about 194 million U.S. dollars of imported product. Moreover, as of March 2022, aver 68 percent of wheat imported to Somalia was of Ukrainian origin.
