Bike race course attendance Japan FY 2010-2019
In 2019, the average home attendance of bike races (keirin) per day in Japan was 1,275. In recent years the figure continuously dropped, losing nearly 1,000 attendances per day in the course of the decade. Although average per day home attendance of bike races has fallen, betting turnover for the races has not. Bets on bike racing constitutes a legal avenue for gambling, similar to horse racing (keiba) and motorboat racing (kyotei).
