Despite 2017 seeing a decrease in the number of new companies receiving venture capital investment in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), overall figures have grown from 2009 onwards. In 2022, 238 of companies receiving venture capital investment were at the start-up stage as opposed to 178 that were at the seed stage and a further 40 at the later stage venture.
