This statistic illustrates the distribution of energy-related patent applications filed with the European Patent Office in Italy in 2016 and 2017, by region. According to data, the share of patent applications made in Lazio decreased from 28 percent in 2016 to 16 percent in 2017. By contrast, the share of patents applications made in Veneto increased from nine percent to 16 percent over the course of a year.
