This statistic shows the shares of food containing residues of pesticide in Italy in 2016, by concentration range. According to data, 1.9 percent of tested samples contained residues of pesticides with a concentration above the maximum residue level.

The study was conducted on 11,066 samples on different categories of food products. The source added the following information: "LOQ (limit of quantification): is the lowest residue concentration that can be quantified with acceptable precision (repeatability) and accuracy under the stated conditions of the test.
MRL (maximum residue level): the maximum amount of a pesticide residue legally permitted in foods or animal feeds, expressed as milligrams per kilogram."
