Peru: murders of activists and environmentalists 2015-2018
From 2015 to 2017, a total of 22 activists fighting in land conflicts or for environmental causes were reported to have been murdered in Peru. 2015 was, by far, the deadliest year with at least 12 victims. In 2018, however, no cases of this type of politically-motivated murder were documented in the South American country.
