New vehicle sales in Mexico by type 2012-2022
The number of new cars sold in Mexico has been continuously increasing in 2021 and 2022, after a period of decline. In 2022, approximately 1.1 million light passenger vehicles were sold in the Latin American country, out of which around 487,000 cars and 599,100 light trucks. This represents year-on-year decrease of 6.4 percent for cars, but a growth of 21.1 percent for light trucks.
