Share of people being member of a political party in Sweden 2008-2018, by origin
From 2008 to 2018, the share of people who were members of a political party in Sweden fluctuated but declined overall. While eight percent of the respondents, who were raised both in and outside Sweden, were involved in party politics in 2008, the share had dropped to six percent for each groups as of 2018. During the time under consideration, the membership rate fluctuated more for respondents who were raised outside of Sweden, while the rate remained relatively stable for people who were raised in Sweden.
