Share of people trusting the daily press in Sweden 2008-2018, by education

This statistic shows the result of a survey on people's trust in the daily press in Sweden from 2008 to 2018, by education. The share of low educated people having very or rather large trust in daily newspapers in Sweden fluctuated over this period. The lowest share occurred in 2008, with 20 percent having large trust in the Swedish daily press. While the highest trust was in 2015, amounting to 30 percent, it declined constantly the following three years, reaching 25 percent as of 2018. That year, 42 percent high educated people trusted the Swedish daily press media.

The different educational levels refer to the following:
Low education: no completion of compulsory school; primary school or equivalent;
Average education: gymnasium/high school completed but no university studies or graduation from university;
High education: university studies or graduation from university.

The percentage refers to the combined share of respondents stating to be "very large trust (1)" and "rather large trust (2)". The share answering to be "not very large trust (3)" and "not large trust at all (4)" is not included in this statistic.
