Share of people favoring the EU in Sweden 2008-2018, by education

According to a survey on the favorability of the European Union in Sweden from 2008 to 2018, Swedes with a high education had a significantly higher positivity towards the EU than their low-educated countrymen. During the time under consideration, people were most critical towards the EU in 2012. However, from 2015 and onwards, the positive attitutes increased among all groups of respondents. In 2019, 67 percent of high educated Swedes and 34 percent of low educated Swedes considered the EU to be favorable.

The different educational levels refer to the following:
Low education: no completion of compulsory school; primary school or equivalent;
Average education: gymnasium/high school completed but no university studies or graduation from university;
High education: university studies or graduation from university.

The percentage refers to the combined share of respondents stating to be "very positive (1)" and "rather positive (2)". The share answering to be "neutral (3)", "rather negative (4)" and "very negative (5)" is not included in this statistic.
