The production of blueberries in Mexico increased by seven fold between 2012 and 2019, reaching 49 thousand metric tons in the latter year. This represents an increase of 22.5 percent in comparison to the previous year, when production of this berry added up to 40 thousand tons. In the year 2021 this value increased to 66 thousand metric tons of blueberry, thus recording its highest ever production value in the considered dates.
