Number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait smokers Australia FY 2005-2019
In the 2019 financial year, it was estimated that 155,300 people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background in Australia were smokers. In terms of numbers of people this number has been increasing since 2005, however as a proportion of the population, smoking rates amongst Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have been declining.
