Between 2017 and 2020, about 6.2 percent of adults in Italy reported depression symptoms. Among these, 61.7 percent asked for help to get out of this mental state. According to data, the regions were people suffering from depression were less likely to seek for help were Molise and the Autonomous Province of Trento. Sardinia, on the contrary, was the region with the highest percentage of individuals declaring to reach out for help when experiencing depression symptoms (78.1 percent).
