Number of foreign direct investment (FDI) projects by industry in Europe 2022

As of 2022, the software and IT services industry received the largest number of foreign direct investment projects in Europe, with a total of 1182 projects in that year. Other industries which recieved a substantial number of FDI projects that year were the business services and professional services industries, with 765 projects, and the transportation manufacturers and suppliers industry, with 470 projects.
