According to the data, the market value of off-patents drugs experienced a negative trend starting from the second quarter of 2017 until the first quarter of 2021, with the only exception of the first quarter of 2020. The largest year-on-year decrease was recorded during the first quarter of 2021, when the value of off-patent drugs sold decreased by -12.6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. From the second quarter of 2021 to the forth of 2022 the market value of off-patent drugs sold in pharmacies grew.
