Considering the years of potential life lost (YPLL) due to homicides in Colombia in 2018, more than 125 thousand years of potential life were lost through murders among people aged between 20 and 24 years. Meanwhile, nearly 100 thousand years were lost through homicides of Colombians aged between 25 and 29 years.

Overall, the number of violent deaths in Colombia has increased lately.
