This statistic shows the results of a survey conducted among American companies in China on the perceived impact on their businesses of the U.S.-China trade tariffs as of September 2018. During the survey period, 88.9 percent of the surveyed American companies in China in automotive industry responded that their businesses were impacted by the proposed 200 billion U.S. dollars tariffs imposed by the U.S. on Chinese imports.

Surveyed American companies were AmCham China and AmCham Shanghai member companies in China of which 60.6 percent were in manufacturing-related industries, 25.8 percent in services, 5.5 percent in retail and distribution, and 8.1 percent in other industries.
