Share of public transport authorities in Poland in 2016, by smartcard system used This statistic shows the share of public transport authorities in Poland using different smartcard systems as of 2016. In this year, five of the 28 surveyed authorities (approximately eighteen percent) did not use a smartcard system, meaning smartcards were not available to six percent of Poles for their local public transport system. Mifare was by far the most commonly used system of smartcard, with more than seventy percent of public transport authorities in Poland using some variant or combination of this technology.
