Male teen participation in sports five times or more a week Japan 2013-2017, by level This statistic depicts the results of a survey conducted between 2013 and 2017 about the frequency of exercising and doing sports among teenage boys aged 12 to 21 years in Japan, sorted by participation rate in the exercise and sports level groups three and four. In 2017, around 20.9 percent of male respondents claimed to participate in sports at least five times a week, while 33.8 percent stated to exercise at least five times a week for 120 minutes and with more than moderate intensity.
