Number of Airbnb guests in Denmark 2019, by destination

With a number of 551.5 thousand, the majority of Airbnb guests in Denmark travelled to the country's capital city, Copenhagen in 2019. This was a share of 45 percent of all Airbnb guests in the country. The second most popular city for Airbnb guests was Aarhus, visited by 71,120 domestic and international Airbnb guests the same year.  

Listings in Copenhagen

    Among the most popular Airbnb listings in Copenhagen, entire homes/ apartments were leading. As of November 2018, almost 21.8 thousand rentals were made for this Airbnb type. It was ahead of private rooms and shared rooms.

Copenhagen vs. other Nordic capitals

    The number of guest arrivals in Airbnb accommodations in the Nordic capitals was by far highest in Copenhagen. In 2017, it reached 510 thousand arrivals in total. By comparison, Iceland’s capital Reykjavík had 350 thousand arrivals, while in Oslo as well as in Stockholm it amounted to 180 thousand respectively. In the Finnish capital Helsinki, there were only 130 thousand guest arrivals in Airbnb accommodations that year.
