Japan: sports and public projects funding from public gambling sales by sports 2016

The statistic shows the value of sports and public interest project funding through public gambling revenues in Japan in fiscal year 2016, sorted by sports type. That year, the majority of public interest project funding from public gambling, around 8.6 billion Japanese yen, was generated through motorboat racing betting. In contrast, the majority of sports projects were funded through motorcycle and bike (keirin) race gambling, with around 948.37 million yen.
