AIDS-related deaths in Brazil 2021, by age group
In 2021, people aged 60 years and older were the age group with the highest number of AIDS-related deaths in Brazil, with 1,799 deceases. Those aged between 40 and 44 years followed, which recorded 1,608 AIDS-related deaths. In contrast, the groups with fewer deaths due to the human immunodeficiency virus were those under 20 years old, particularly children aged five to 14. As of 2021, the AIDS death rate in Brazil was estimated at 4.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, an increase compared to previous years.
